
The
City of Central, La., was
incorporated on April 23, 2005. Central is located in East
Baton Rouge Parish, east of the cities of Baker and Zachary. The
City is bordered by the Comite River to the west, the Amite River to the east,
and Highway 64 to the north. Central's boundaries encompass
approximately 66 square miles. At the time of incorporation, the City's
estimated population was near 27,000 citizens with approximately 18,000 registered voters.
Since incorporation,
Central has progressed rapidly by starting it's own Central Community School System, already one of the highest
rated in the state.
